About Maritime Mutual

Maritime Mutual is a long established and well-secured P&I Club and marine insurer. They provide reliable and cost effective marine insurance cover together with full service support to Club Members. Their corporate headquarters is located in New Zealand with managerial correspondents in Asia & Europe. They have a network of further correspondents located throughout the globe. 

The Brief

Unbranded Space was approached out of a desire to reinvigorate the Maritime Mutual brand with a redesigned website. The brief was to create a modern professional website that represented the vision of company. Maritime Mutual also needed a platform where content could be easily updated as well as an infrastructure for posting regular bulletins to the website for the benefit of its members. 

MMIA also wanted to ensure the club rulebook was available for members was accessible at any time. The rulebook represents a considerable number of pages which need to be reviewed on a regular basis. This rulebook and many other documents also needed to be available as downloadable PDF documents.

The Solution

Unbranded Space worked closely with Maritime Mutual to design a completely new navigational structure, collaborating on developing new content for the website as well. The end result was a website that not only reinvigorated the clubs online image but provided a platform that would allow them to better communicate with its members. 

The club has available an extensive Rule Book and a list of correspondents in over 100 countries around the world. It was important to create flexible structure that made the task of updating these areas as simple as possible. We developed a series of templates for controlling the formatting of each unique area allowing for worry free updating of content. To further ensure that updates are performed error free we implemented a revision system allowing club member to see how updates will look on the site prior to them being published. Organisation of all of these pages into a simple navigable structure required developing a custom plugin to further enhance WordPresses already excellent blogging engine. 

In addition to the website we suggested that Maritime Mutual should also carry the reinvigorated branding beyond the website. We redesigned the clubs application forms making them interactive with digital signing capabilities. Additional designs included printable documents of the list of correspondents from over 100 countries, shipowner guidelines and a template document for publishing regular risk bulletins.

COVID-19 Notice: As of the 18th May, 2020 Western Australia is entering Phase 2 of the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. Unbranded Space’s policy during phase 2 is that we still encourage all meetings to occur over online video conference. However, where you feel online conferencing will be limiting in some way, then we are still able to attend your business premises provided it is not one that is prevented from being open due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Fees:  Our online consultation fee is $99 (GST Inc) per hour or part thereof. We add a $22 call out fee to the first hour if requesting an on-site meeting.
